Ukrhydroenergo Sells Its First Guarantees of Origin for Electricity
Today, on October 21, at the initiative of Ukrhydroenergo, the first auction of Guarantees of Origin for electricity produced from renewable sources (GOOs) took place on the trading platform of JSC "Market Operator." Twelve Ukrainian companies participated in the auction, purchasing 28,257 guarantees.
The price for one guarantee of origin was UAH 13 per 1 MWh, corresponding to the starting price.
A total of 50,000 guarantees, equivalent to 50,000 MWh of clean energy, were offered at the auction. This auction is the first step toward creating a national market for GOOs, which will promote more transparent and environmentally responsible development of Ukraine's energy sector.
The auction opens new opportunities for companies supporting renewable energy sources and actively engaging in global decarbonisation initiatives.
