1932
The company has a unique history of star-up and stable development. In 1932, the first hydro unit of Dnipro HPP supplied current to the network for the first time, starting the annals of the company.
50s - 70s
The rapid development of hydropower took place in the 50s - 70s of the last century. It is then that new hydropower facilities appeared one after another on the largest Ukrainian rivers, the Dnieper and the Dnister.
1994
In 1994, the State Enterprise "Dniprohydroenergo" was established on the basis of Dnipro, Dniprodzerzhynsk, Kakhovka, Kremenchuk hydro power plants and the Cascade of Middle Dnipro HPPs.
1998
In 1998, the State Joint-Stock Power Generating Company "Dnistrohydroenergo" was established.
2003
One of the key stages of the company's formation was 2003, when the reorganization of Dniprohydroenergo and Dnistrohydroenergo took place. Through their merging, the State Joint Stock Company "Ukrhydroenergo" was set up.
The “patriarch” of the Ukrainian hydropower industry, Hero of Ukraine Semen Potashnyk, who held this position from 2004 to 2011, became the first Chairman of the Board of the company.
2011
In 2011, Ihor Syrota became the Director General of the company and he is the head of Ukrhydroenergo till now.
2019
The Supervisory Board of Ukrhydroenergo was established in 2019. It is a collegial body that consists of 4 committees, protects the rights of the Company's shareholders, carries out strategic management, and also analyzes and evaluates the activities of the Company's Executive Body.
2021
Introduction into industrial operation of the fourth hydro unit of the Dnister HPP, start of implementation of the project “Ukraine – Improving Power System Resilience for European Power Grid Integration (Installation of Hybrid Systems for Electricity Production in Ukrhydroenergo)
