The dynamic development of Ukrhydroenergo gives grounds to look ahead with confidence and determine the Company's long-term development strategy. The strategic goal of the company is to provide the energy system of Ukraine with electricity and power reserve due to the hydro resources of the Dnieper and Dnister rivers. For this purpose, the Company will continue to ensure the reliable condition and high-quality operation of the installed equipment and hydraulic structures, and also develop generating capacities on these rivers.
According to Ukrhydroenergo's Strategic Development Plan for 2023-2027, five goals are defined as near- and mid-term strategic tasks:
Rehabilitation of the Dnipro Cascade HPPs
Completion of the construction of Dnister PSPP
Construction of Kaniv PSPP
Construction of Kakhovka-2 HPP
Implementation of the project "Ukraine – Improving Power System Resilience for European Power Grid Integration Project (Installation of Hybrid Systems for Electricity Production in PJSC “Ukrhydroenergo”)"
The general expected results of the implementation of the Strategic Development Plan of Ukrhydroenergo will be an increase in the level of safety, reliable and sustainable functioning of the hydropower industry and its effective development with maximum use of hydropower potential, improvement of resilience and reliability of the United Energy System of Ukraine due to a balanced capacity structure, as well as decarbonization of the energy sector.
