Ukrhydroenergo has many years of successful experience in cooperation with strategic international financial institutions and organizations, as well as with leading global energy and engineering companies. The company is interested in cooperation with foreign partners to implement promising projects and attract investments.
As part of the "Hydro Power Plants Rehabilitation" Project, Ukrhydroenergo cooperates with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the European Investment Bank. The company cooperates with the International Hydropower Association (IHA), the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD), and other public organizations and associations in the field of hydropower.
Cooperation with International Financial Institutions (IFIs)
Ukrhydroenergo has many years of experience in cooperation with International Financial Institutions (IFIs), such as the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (hereinafter – the IBRD, World Bank), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (hereinafter – the EBRD), and the European Investment Bank (hereinafter – the EIB).
Since the 90s of the last century with the IBRD funding, and later on since 2011 to continue with financing by the EBRD and EIB, the first and second stages of HPP reconstruction have been successfully implemented with the introduction of the state-of-art equipment produced by the leading world and European manufacturers. During these years, lots of turbines, generators, high-voltage equipment, unit control systems and dam safety monitoring systems have been reconstructed, and the Company’s power plant specialists have been trained and improved their qualification skills to commission and operate the modern equipment.
Currently, Hydro Power Plants Rehabilitation Project is jointly being implemented using the loan funds provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank.
In addition, a few new loan agreements were concluded between the IBRD, the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) and Ukrhydroenergo in 2021 to implement an investment project “Ukraine – Improving Power System Resilience for European Power Grid Integration Project (Installation of Hybrid Systems for Electricity Production in Ukrhydroenergo)”.
Over all these years of implementing joint projects with IFIs, Ukrhydroenergo has proven to be a reliable partner in fulfilling financial obligations under loan agreements.
