The parties are currently considering launching a pilot project at one of the hydropower plants to assess, in practice, the efficiency and environmental performance of such solutions. Even amid the full-scale war, Ukrhydroenergo continues to actively study and adopt international best practices to ensure the company’s sustainable development.
The primary focus remains on supporting critical infrastructure and ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the power system, which is particularly important under current conditions.
Under the agreement, Polish specialists will provide technical expertise and prepare proposals for facility modernisation. At the same time, the Ukrainian side will ensure the necessary information support and facilitate the issuance of required permits.
“It is important for us to see how these solutions perform in real operating conditions so that we can adopt best practices for the restoration of our plants and implement modern technologies at our facilities to ensure the stable operation of both the power system and the hydropower sector as a whole,” - said Interim Director General of Ukrhydroenergo Bogdan Sukhetskyi.
The memorandum provides for the maximum involvement of Ukrainian specialists should the cooperation move to practical implementation. The partnership will be based on the principles of transparency and mutual protection of confidential information.
