Ukrhydroenergo presented its experience in hydropower recovery at the Paris forum
The International Forum on Pumped Storage Hydropower was held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. Ukrhydroenergo Supervisory Board member Steve Walsh spoke on the panel “Leveraging Existing Infrastructure: Unlocking the Potential of Brownfield Projects” with a presentation entitled “Re-equipping for Resilience: Brownfield Projects in Wartime Ukraine.”
Steve Walsh emphasized the company’s main priorities during the war: rebuilding damaged facilities, strengthening infrastructure protection, and developing projects on the Dnipro and Dniester rivers.
“Despite the daily danger, our people continue to work, repair equipment, and implement development projects. This is true dedication and resilience,” Walsh underlined.
He also highlighted the support of international partners: the EBRD, EIB, and other financial institutions have already provided about €1 billion in credit financing for the development of Ukrainian hydropower.
In addition, the forum included working meetings between Ukrhydroenergo representatives and international partners to discuss recovery and development projects.
