Ukrhydroenergo Supervisory Board appointed a new CEO

The new CEO's priorities include ensuring the company's stable operational performance, restoring damaged generation capacity, modernising power stations in line with current energy security and resilience standards, and enhancing the physical and engineering protection of its facilities.

"It was important for us to select a leader capable of operating under wartime conditions while delivering the modernization programme. We expect the new CEO to improve operational efficiency and to introduce technological solutions for the restoration of facilities damaged as a result of more than 260 russian attacks," - said Valentyn Gvozdiy, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ukrhydroenergo.

To conduct the selection, the Supervisory Board engaged Korn Ferry, an international consulting firm specializing in executive search and assessment. The process was carried out with support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The selection proceeded in several consecutive stages. At the first stage, Korn Ferry compiled a long list of candidates. This was followed by initial interviews and a thorough assessment of candidates against the requirements set by the Supervisory Board, resulting in a shortlist of five. The next stage involved an in-depth assessment of professional competencies and structured interviews, during which the candidates presented their strategic vision for Ukrhydroenergo.

The selection was conducted by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, which consists of four independent members of the Supervisory Board. Based on the assessment results, the Committee recommended two finalists for the Supervisory Board's final vote.

The selection procedure was conducted in accordance with corporate governance best practices, including the OECD Principles.
