The World Bank management paid an important visit to Ukrhydroenergo
On the fourth year since the start of the full-scale invasion, a working meeting with the World Bank delegation took place at one of Ukrhydroenergo’sfacilities. The Bank’s delegation included Anna Bjerde, Managing Director of Operations, Antonella Bassani, Regional Vice President, Europe and Central Asia, and Bob Saum, Division Director, ECCEE. The Company was represented by ValentynGvozdiy, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, VitaliiKushnirov, Member of the Supervisory Board, and Bogdan Sukhetskyi, Interim Director General.
Over four years of full-scale war, Ukrhydroenergo’spartnership with the World Bank has grown stronger and become a practical tool for recovery and development. When part of the generating capacities is damaged or destroyed, it is important to be able to refurbish the system in line with new challenges.
The conversation focused on the progress and implementation of the projects aimed at increasing the sustainability and flexibility of hydropower generation, as well as on further steps for cooperation. For the Company, it is a long-term commitment with shared responsibility for the outcome.
Ukrhydroenergo is grateful to the World Bank partners for thirty years of partnership, trust, and consistent support. It is especially valuable to feel this support at such a time, when the country is assessing the difficult consequences of the war and continues its recovery efforts. Joint projects are, first and foremost, about specific solutions and investments in modernization. In the current circumstances, it is crucial for stable operation of the power system and its further recovery.
