Ukrainian-Slovak partnership: Ukrhydroenergo expands cooperation in the implementation of promising projects
A meeting was held at Ukrhydroenergo with representatives of the Department for the Reconstruction of Ukraine of the Office of the Vice Prime Minister for Recovery Plan and Knowledge Economy of Slovakia, SlovakAid, and Eximbanka SR, with the participation of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The parties discussed possible cooperation in raising funds to develop a feasibility study for an innovative project of a multi-purpose integrated hydroelectric power plant, which aims to combine various types of generation from renewable energy sources to balance the Integrated Power System of Ukraine.
During the meeting, Acting CEO of Ukrhydroenergo Bogdan Sukhetskyi noted that the construction of a unique and powerful power plant for the production of renewable energy would be the first project of its kind in Ukraine.
“The implementation of this project will help ensure the overall stability of Ukraine's power system in general and expand Ukrhydroenergo's capacity to provide frequency and power regulation services in particular. It is also promising in terms of approximation to European standards for the production of green electricity. Its advantage is the ability to build different capacities due to the location, which is very important in terms of security,” said Bogdan Sukhetskyi.
In turn, Juraj Toporčák, Director of the Department for Ukraine Recovery at the Office of the Vice Prime Minister for Recovery Plan and Knowledge Economy of the Slovak Republic, said: “Our main goal is to cooperate with Ukraine in stabilizing the energy system and balancing, in particular, we are looking for opportunities to participate in projects that help rebuild Ukraine. We are interested in long-term and effective cooperation.”
