EBRD will assist in the restoration and modernisation of Ukrhydroenergo's HPPs
Today, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, along with EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso in London and Ukrhydroenergo CEO Ihor Syrota signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
This agreement outlines the cooperation between the Government of Ukraine, Ukrhydroenergo, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Their joint efforts will focus on replacing critical equipment at hydroelectric power plants to restore operational reliability and efficiency, which have been affected by the russian military aggression . The memorandum also aims to identify potential investment opportunities, including the reconstruction of the Kakhovka HPP and related infrastructure.
"I am grateful to the Government of Ukraine and international partners, particularly the EBRD, for their comprehensive support in implementing Ukrhydroenergo's key task - restoring hydropower facilities. I am convinced that by working together, we will restore the lost capacity and increase the security of our energy infrastructure," said Igor Syrota.
