High-level meetings at COP-28 led by Ukrhydroenergo's leadership

As part of the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP-28) held in the UAE, the leadership of Ukrhydroenergo participated in a meeting with Maroš Šefčovič, the Vice-President of the European Commission.

During discussions, Ukrhydroenergo's CEO, Igor Syrota, and Head of the Supervisory Board, Valentyn Gvozdiy, addressed the role of hydropower in Ukraine's energy security within the context of the European Green Deal. The dialogue encompassed decarbonization initiatives, the enhanced role of hydrogeneration in Ukraine's energy mix, the implementation of renewable energy sources, and the application of technologies to strengthen the country's energy independence and resilience. Representatives from Ukrhydroenergo underscored the significance of these initiatives for achieving a more sustainable energy future for Ukraine.

Syrota and Gvozdiy expressed gratitude to Vice-President Šefčovič for unwavering support, particularly during challenging times testing the resilience of Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
