Keep the lights on!
Working in extremely difficult conditions despite the sound of sirens, active restoration despite numerous arrivals and destruction - these are the realities in which Ukrainian hydropower engineers have been operating for more than 1.5 years
October 2022 - October 2023:
- Ukrhydroenergo suffered losses of more than $1.5 billion (the exact total losses can only be calculated after de-occupation).
- During the autumn-winter period of 2022-2023, during massive attacks, Ukraine faced the number of blackouts. However, thanks to the Ukrhydroenergo team, the energy system was supported sufficiently multiply times.
- On 6 June 2023, russia destroyed Kakhovka HPP. However, this did not break us. From the first day after the terrorist attack, the company began preparations for the restoration of the Kakhovka hydropower plant.
Despite everything, Ukrhydroenergo continues:
- provide clean energy for Ukraine;
- protect communities from floods and droughts;
- operation and large scale repair campaing;
- recovering and preparation for the new autumn-winter season.
- implement new projects and innovations in operation.
On 23 May 2023, Ukrhydroenergo has become a member of the International Hydropower Association.
