The management of Ukrhydroenergo met with the head of the International Hydropower Association at COP28 UAE

CEO Ukrhydroenergo Ihor Syrota, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Valentyn Gvozdiy and Board member Vitaliy Kushnirov, held a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of the International Hydropower Association (IHA) Eddie Rich. The meeting occurred during the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference — COP28 UAE.

They discussed issues related to recovery and establishing a platform based on the association for the timely exchange of information regarding the company's needs in recovering and reconstructing the energy infrastructure.

Additionally, representatives of the Supervisory Board briefed Mr. Rich on the company's prospective projects, including the construction of Dniester PSPP, the Kaniv PSPP project, and a pilot project for 'green hydrogen' production. The meeting extensively covered the parameters and potential of hydroaccumulative power stations, considering their contribution to the cost-effectiveness and reliability of electricity supply.

Ihor Syrota emphasized the importance of international cooperation for restoring Ukraine's energy infrastructure, stating:

“Ukrhydroenergo deepens cooperation with international partners to restore and modernize the energy infrastructure. We appreciate the association's support during this challenging time for the country. Our cooperation will contribute to the energy sustainability of Ukraine."

“Being a member of the international hydropower community means having access to global business and technology standards, the opportunity to learn, and share cutting-edge experiences,” remarked Valentyn Gvozdiy.

Mr. Rich acknowledged the significant contribution of Ukrhydroenergo to the functioning of the energy system and the preservation of Ukraine during attacks from russia and military actions.
