Stability and energy security: The Kaniv PSP construction project discussed in Warsaw
The general director of Ukrhydroenergo, Ihor Syrota, met with Thierry Pez, head of strategic projects at the Canadian company AECON, and representatives of the UGP project institute in Warsaw to discuss the roadmap for implementing the Kaniv PSP construction project.
"The implementation of the Kaniv PSP project is a strategic step for Ukraine’s energy sector. This plant will not only significantly improve the efficiency of energy resource use but also play a crucial role in ensuring the stability of the national energy system amid global and regional challenges. It will become an essential element in achieving Ukraine's energy independence and in advancing renewable energy sources," emphasized Ihor Syrota.
The development of hydropower in Ukraine is not only a path to stable energy supply but also to the sustainable use of natural resources. With projects like the Kaniv PSP, Ukraine can enhance the flexibility of its energy system, balance electricity production and consumption, and strengthen its energy security in the face of modern challenges.
