Ukrainian hydropower specialists study Canadian experience in building modern hydropower plants
A delegation of Ukrhydroenergo specialists led by CEO Ihor Syrota visited the hydroelectric power plant construction site in St. John's, Canada.
Construction of the Site C generating station and spillway dam began in 2018 on the Peaсe River in northeastern British Columbia. The Canadian company AECON is the managing partner of the consortium that was selected to implement this construction project.
The plant will consist of 6 hydroelectric units with a total capacity of 1100 MW. The customer of the works is BC Hydro. Currently, about 2500 employees are involved in construction.
It was important for Ukrhydroenergo's specialists to familiarize themselves with engineering solutions and new technologies for such a large-scale construction.
