Ukrhydroenergo and the Ministry of Economy signed a Memorandum of support for veterans and people with disabilities
Ukrhydroenergo and the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of cooperation in implementing the state veterans' policy. The Memorandum provides that Ukrhydroenergo will inform the company's employees and their families about government programs to support veterans and people with disabilities caused by war. In particular, about grant projects for issuing and developing their own business.
Ukrhydroenergo and the Ministry of Economy will also facilitate the post-war adaptation and socialization of combatants. About 100 employees of the company are currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and eventually all of them will need support both at home and at work upon their return. Government projects will contribute to the speedy psychological recovery of the defenders.
"The government is already implementing a number of programs to support female and male veterans. Among them is the veteran component of the grant program "Own Business". Under its terms, combatants and their wives or husbands can receive funding from the state from UAH 250,000 to one million to set up or develop their business. Defenders can also get vocational education free of charge, receive a training voucher or take courses at the vocational education centers of the state employment service. I am glad that Ukrhydroenergo will also join the implementation of projects to support female and male veterans," says Yulia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
In turn, Ukrhydroenergo CEO Ihor Syrota said:
"Ukrhydroenergo is a socially responsible company. We do our best to keep up with the times. We understand that it is important to support veterans and people with disabilities caused by the war who have returned from the front line and are trying to adapt and adjust to the realities of peaceful life. For Ukrhydroenergo, employees are the highest value. The dignity, health, well-being, motivational aspects and safety of employees are of utmost importance in the company's operations. We support corporate values and teamwork in a modern and comfortable working environment. Barrier-free and inclusive culture is part of Ukrhydroenergo's culture and one of the ways in which our values and goals are realized. Therefore, the signing of the Memorandum on the employment of veterans and people with disabilities as a result of war is an important step for the development of our company and for the benefit of society as a whole."
