Ukrhydroenergo continues to actively work on securing financing for the implementation of restoration and development projects
"Ukrhydroenergo continues to collaborate with international financial institutions to secure funding for restoration and development projects. We are also exploring the potential involvement of private capital in reconstruction projects. Recently, in the presence of the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Canada, we signed a memorandum of understanding between Ukrainian and Canadian companies Aecon Group Incorporated to cooperate on the construction of the Kaniv pumped storage power plant and Kakhovska hydroelectric power plant. The most important criteria for obtaining funds from international financial organizations and private sources are the high-quality preparation of projects and a successful track record in securing financing and implementing investment projects. Without these, it is impossible to expect support for any project. Transparency in the use of funds is also crucial to them, so effective corporate governance is a key to success," noted Nataliya Mykolska, a member of the Supervisory Board of Ukrhydroenergo, during her speech at the "Energy Business" conference.
It's worth noting that Ukrhydroenergo is currently actively working in two directions: the restoration and construction of a new generation of energy facilities. The company is currently completing the construction of units 5-7 at the Dnistrovska pumped storage power plant (PSPP), upgrading station equipment, and preparing for the autumn-winter period. Work on the construction projects of the Kaniv PSPP and Kakhovska HPP is also underway.
Ukrhydroenergo successfully collaborates with international financial organizations such as The World Bank, The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and The European Investment Bank. The total value of active projects with these institutions is approximately $500 million.
The Supervisory Board of Ukrhydroenergo was established in 2019 as part of the corporate governance reform of state-owned enterprises.
The "Energy Business" industrial conference, organized by Forbes magazine, brought together regulators and businesses to discuss issues and find solutions to make Ukrainian energy more affordable and sustainable.
