Ukrhydroenergo launched the procurement of legal services as regards compensation for the damage caused by destruction of Kakhovka HPP
On August 15, 2024, Ukrhydroenergo launched the procurement of the services for the provision of legal representation in the international arbitration as regards compensation for losses caused by destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, which was blown up by russian occupation forces last June.
After the Kakhovka HPP dam explosion, which is considered the worst man-made disaster since World War II, Ukrhydroenergo initiated arbitration proceedings against the russian federation.
In March 2024, an official notification of the arbitration was already sent to the government and the officials of russia in accordance with the Agreement between the governments of Ukraine and russia on mutual protection of investments.
Based on the experience of similar disputes, the proceedings in this case will last for many years, and that is why the Company expects to engage a reliable and professional partner to confidently go through this difficult but very important arbitration, which, inter alia, is necessary to bring to justice those responsible for this disaster.
Ukrhydroenergo invites leading national and international law firms to participate in the procurement. Firms with a track record of successful representation in investment and international commercial arbitrations will have preference. We invite all the interested law firms to review the terms of the procurement and submit their proposals. Should you have additional questions, please send them through the Prozorro system no later than 10 days before the Proposals submission deadline.
