Ukrhydroenergo signs a memorandum with Andritz Hydro GmbH on cooperation in the implementation of green hydrogen production projects
October 24. As part of the business forum a Memorandum was signed between the Ukrainian company Ukrhydroenergo and the German company Andritz Hydro GmbH on cooperation within the framework of the German national hydrogen strategy program.
The signing took place with the participation of the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko. The memorandum was signed by CEO Ihor Syrota on behalf of Ukrhydroenergo and by Managing Director Dominik Fust and Сountry Manager Norbert Schwarz on behalf of Andritz Hydro GmbH.
The parties intend to cooperate to develop and implement projects for the production of green hydrogen in Ukraine.
“Green hydrogen is going to play a key role in a climate-neutral, secure and affordable energy future in Germany, Ukraine and the EU. Green hydrogen is especially set to be an important component of the transition to net-zero carbon economy. Ukraine - with its large potential for hydropower and other renewable energy sources - could become important for Germany´s and/or Europe´s planned new hydrogen supply chain. Green hydrogen produced in Ukraine on the basis of hydropower as the leading permanent source of renewable energy could be partially exported to Germany and the EU”, - the Memorandum says.
The document also states that H2Global financing is considered as one of the tools for implementing green hydrogen projects.
The parties signed a memorandum for a period of three years.
