The situation in the hydropower sector as of 24 January

Ukrhydroenergo's stations are operating normally. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre, due to ice formation and ice melt against high water content, water levels continue to rise in the Upper Dnipro and Desna rivers (Kyiv and Chernihiv regions). This high inflow is not typical for winter, as it was last year. However, it has a positive impact on the operation of hydroelectric power generation.

 The repair campaign at HPPs and PSPPs continues according to the schedule. In addition to major and routine repairs, work continues on projects to strengthen the physical security of hydroelectric power plants.

The general situation in the power system:

There is no deficit in the power system.

But it remains important not to overload the power system, especially during peak consumption hours (from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00).
