Ukrhydroenergo will shape the green hydrogen market in Ukraine
The "pilot" green hydrogen project launched by Ukrhydroenergo will be an impetus for the formation and development of the hydrogen market in Ukraine. This was stated by Valentyn Gvozdiy, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ukrhydroenergo, at a meeting with Jonas Moberg, CEO of the Green Hydrogen Organization. The meeting occurred on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
This project involves the production of green hydrogen using the renewable potential of Ukrainian hydroelectric power plants. It will become a platform for testing innovative technologies in this area and contribute to developing the green energy market in Ukraine.
Mr. Moberg praised Ukrhydroenergo's initiative, noting its importance, especially in light of the destruction caused to the company's facilities by Russian aggressors. The project is part of Ukrhydroenergo's broader efforts to restore and modernize the country's energy infrastructure. The project aims to increase the resilience and independence of the country's energy system through import substitution and fulfilling Ukraine's commitments under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
